Missionary Resources that the Church Has and How to Access Them

We have access to many resources designed to help us with missionary work in our wards, but I've realized that we often don't know what these resources are or where to find them. Here’s a guide to a few key materials, where to find them, and how they can benefit you.

Preach My Gospel (Chapter 13)

Purpose: While “Preach My Gospel” is commonly associated with full-time missionaries, Chapter 13 emphasizes its relevance to ward mission leaders. It provides guidance on uniting with leaders and members to establish the Church.

How to Access: You can find “Preach My Gospel” in the Gospel Library app under the “Missionary” section or "Sharing the Gospel" section.

Application: Chapter 13 offers insights into coordinating efforts between missionaries, ward leaders, and members. It highlights the importance of regular coordination meetings and the use of tools like the Progress Record to monitor the progress of individuals being taught.

General Handbook (Section 23)

Purpose: The General Handbook offers instructions and guidelines for Church leaders. Section 23 of the General Handbook focuses on sharing the gospel and strengthening new and returning members. It outlines the responsibilities of ward mission leaders and guides effective missionary coordination.

How to Access: Available in the Gospel Library app under the “Handbooks and Callings” section.

Application: This section emphasizes the importance of weekly coordination meetings to align efforts between ward leaders, missionaries, and members. As a ward mission leader, you are responsible for conducting these meetings, ensuring all parties work together to support individuals on their covenant path.

Sharing the Gospel (Gospel Library)

Purpose: This section provides resources and ideas to help members share the gospel naturally in their daily lives.

How to Access: In the Gospel Library app, navigate to the “Sharing the Gospel” section.

Application: Explore materials that offer practical suggestions for sharing your faith through love, service, and invitations.

My Covenant Path

Purpose: “My Covenant Path” outlines key experiences and milestones for new and returning members to strengthen their faith and commitment.

How to Access: In the Gospel Library app, navigate to the “Adult” section, then to the "New or Returning Members" section, then to the "My Covenant Path"

Application: Helps recent converts deepen their faith and conversion. Important for newly assigned ministers of these new members to get familiar with this.

Member Tools App

Purpose: The Member Tools app includes the Covenant Path Progress report, designed to help track the progress of new and returning members during their first two years of Church membership or reactivation.

How to Access: Download the Member Tools app from your device’s app store. The Covenant Path Progress report is accessible through the Reports menu within the app.

Application: Ward council members can use this report to monitor the progress of recently baptized members, ensuring they receive the necessary support and guidance. Keeping this tool updated is crucial for effective coordination and to help new members stay on their covenant path.

FamilySearch

Purpose: FamilySearch is a family history resource that allows members to discover and document their ancestry.

How to Access: Visit the FamilySearch website or access it through the Gospel Library app.

Application: Help new members do their family history work and help them prepare names for temple ordinances.

By effectively utilizing these resources, you can enhance your efforts as a ward mission leader and help others along the covenant path.
